Gravitating down Wind Street, I never expected to find somewhere new where not only could I meet a lot of new and interesting people, but I could also get some good beer and spin some vinyl.   Led by the Hop Hustlers at The Gravity Station, I was introduced to new beers such as Chilli Plum Porter, Sharks Against Surfers and Snowball.
These were not the sort of pints your granddad supped in the pub on a wet Wednesday. This bar always has a wide range of beers on draught that can be sampled through tasting trays starting at £3.50 until you find the one you really want.  It’s rare these days to actually leave a bar satisfied (maybe a bit merry) and still have money in your pocket.

With the coming onslaught of nauseating Christmas films around the corner, I know where I’ll be spending the next month or so until the release of Star Wars:The Force Awakens.  Cinema and Co also hosts ‘Pizza Tuesdays’ meaning I could practically live there as long as I eat enough cheese and meat to last the rest of the week.  They are playing ‘Elf’ on the 19th of December which is a sign of a well run cinema.

Recently opened on the Kingsway,  Coffee Punks has taken it’s cue from New York Jazz Cafes with seriously funky artwork both on the lattes and  the walls. Also does a selection of pretty tasty sandwiches at reasonable prices if you are as tired as I am of tasteless supermarket baps which is lush with their craft Root Beer.

Volcano Theatre brings to the stage a very unusual mix of independent theatre productions from worthy plays such as Chekov to deranged one-man shows on alcoholism fittingly at the bar. It also houses a great amount of art (Look out for the Cambells Soup Can Robot) that makes for a very good night when followed by a few pints.

Bryn-Y-Mor Road’s The Favourite Cafe, owned by  the very awesome and accommodating Gigi by far does the best Dumplings in the whole of Swansea. Perfect for  an intimate, sit down meal with the family, a hungover afternoon or a quick hour away from work.  This place really sets the bar for Chinese food in Swansea really high and with news that they are now doing a lunch deal at £7.90 for 2 courses means I can see a lot of return trips in the New Year.
